Ingredients to make banana and chocolate cookies:

  •     3/4 cup of common wheat flour (or pastry flour).
  •     2 ripe bananas
  •     1/4 cup of brown sugar
  •     5 3/4 tablespoons of butter at room temperature
  •     30 grams of chocolate chips
  •     ¾ teaspoon baking powder (baking powder)

How to make Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies:

Start making these banana chocolate chip cookies by mashing the bananas very well until they are the consistency of mashed bananas.

Separately, sift the flour with the baking powder in a large bowl. Then, add the mashed bananas.

Tip: If you use leavening flour, which already contains yeast, you can eliminate the yeast from the recipe.

Add the sugar and the softened butter and mix everything with a whisk or a spatula. You can use manual or electric beaters. If you do not want to use butter, you can substitute it with 80 ml of sunflower oil or 50 ml of olive oil. This way, in addition, you will have healthy banana cookies.

Tip: You can soften the butter by putting it for 30 seconds in the microwave at medium temperature or in a bain-marie until it is soft.

Add the chocolate chips and mix until the banana cookie dough ingredients are well integrated.

With the help of a spoon, place small amounts of the dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and greased with butter or oil. This dough is not compact like that of traditional shortbread cookies, which is why you will need a spoon. Let the banana and chocolate cookies rise for 30 minutes in the refrigerator so that the dough hardens a little.

Tip: Preheat the oven to 180 ºC with heat up and down for about 15 minutes before taking the cookies out of the refrigerator.

Bake the banana cookies for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown. After removing them from the oven, let them cool slightly and remove them from the paper with a spatula if you have difficulty.

That’s it! You now have your banana chocolate chip cookie recipe ready to serve. Children will love them, and you will get them to eat the fruit in a much more fun way. You can eat them with a coffee, a milkshake, a natural juice… Also, if you dare, you can decorate them with lemon icing, which will give an extra flavor and texture to your cookies.
