Sweet-toothed people of the world, congratulations. These fired apples are going to become one of your favorite treats. They can be served with ice cream, as a filling for crepes, cakes, and of course, they serve as a dessert in themselves, hot or cold. They are really delicious and as you will see, they are really easy to prepare. If you have children who don’t like apples, try putting the sauce that is formed on some of their favorite desserts… little by little they will be putting a better face to the fruit, guaranteed!

1 and a half kg apples
1 cup brown sugar
40 gr butter in cubes
1 tablespoon cinnamon powder
1 pinch of nutmeg ground on the spot
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon of water

Peel and slice the apples (removing the core), and put them in the crockpot. Add the rest of the ingredients (except the cornstarch and butter) and stir until the fruit is well impregnated with them.

Distribute the butter cubes over the apples and program 5 hours at low temperature, stirring a couple of times during cooking to mix everything well. If at the end of the set time we see that the sauce is too liquid, add the cornstarch. If we see that there is not much sauce, we can add a spoonful more of water (the final texture of the sauce should be of syrup, not more liquid).

Ready to take to the table and serve with pancakes, waffles, ice cream… finger-lickin’ good!!!
