Ingredients to make Porridge:

  •  ½ cup oat flakes
  •  1 cup of milk (240 milliliters)
  •  1 pinch of salt

To accompany (optional):

  •  1 banana
  •  1 tablespoon of blueberries
  •  1 tablespoon of raspberries
  •  1 tablespoon maple syrup, honey, agave, or another liquid sweetener

How to make Porridge:

  1. The traditional porridge recipe indicates that it is important to toast the oatmeal lightly before starting the preparation to make it tastier. Therefore, we have toasted the oat flakes in a frying pan over medium heat for 1 minute, stirring well with a spoon.
  2. Heat the oats and milk in a saucepan over medium heat and start stirring. This recipe can be prepared with milk, vegetable milk, or water, depending on how you like your porridge.
  3. Next, we put a pinch of salt and continue stirring. The salt makes the porridge oatmeal enhance its flavor.
