Salmon Patties

This recipe is great for using leftover salmon or canned salmon. You can add all the spices you like.


Servings: 4 

  • 1 can (7 oz) salmon, drained and crumbled
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 2 shallots, finely chopped
  • 2 cups of cracker crumbs
  • lemon pepper, to taste

Steps of preparation

Preparation: 10min ‘ Cooking: 10min ‘ Ready in : 20min 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the salmon, egg, olive oil, shallot, and 2/3 of the breadcrumbs. Season with pepper. Form 8 small patties with this mixture. Sprinkle the patties with the remaining breadcrumbs and place them on a baking sheet (in a single layer).
  3. Bake for 10 minutes, turning the patties once, until golden brown on both sides.

Western-style Salmon Patties Recipe

An excellent recipe that can be made from canned salmon or freshly cooked salmon.


Servings: 5 

  • 1 can (418 g) salmon
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2/3 cup crumbled crackers
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 3 tablespoons shortening

Steps of preparation

Preparation: 10min ‘ Cooking: 15min ‘ Ready in : 25min 

  1. Drain the salmon and reserve ¾ cup of the liquid. Crumble the salmon with a fork. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and cook until tender.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine onion and reserved salmon liquid, 1/3 of the crumbled crackers, eggs, parsley, dry mustard, and salmon; mix. Shape into 6 patties and roll in remaining bread crumbs to cover.
  3. Melt shortening in a large skillet over medium heat; cook meatballs until golden on both sides.
