  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 4 large eggs
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg optional
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • Extra cinnamon or powdered sugar for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Warm the milk gently on the stove.
  • Whisk eggs, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a bowl.
  • Slowly add warm milk while whisking. Stir in melted butter.
  • Pour into crust and bake 40–45 minutes, until set with a slight jiggle.
  • Cool completely before slicing. Chill if desired.
