RUSSIAN TEA COOKIES RECIPE

Soft, buttery Russian Tea Cookies made with finely chopped nuts and coated in powdered sugar for a melt-in-your-mouth classic treat.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup finely chopped pecans or walnuts
  • Powdered sugar for rolling

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream butter and powdered sugar until smooth.
  • Mix in the vanilla.
  • Add flour and salt, stirring until a soft dough forms.
  • Fold in the chopped nuts.
  • Roll dough into 1-inch balls and arrange on the prepared baking sheets.
  • Bake for 12–14 minutes, or until the bottoms are lightly golden.
  • Cool for 3–4 minutes, then roll warm cookies in powdered sugar.
  • After cooling completely, roll in powdered sugar again.
  • Store in an airtight container once fully cooled.
