Experience the harmonious blend of Italian and Mexican cuisines with our sumptuous Cheesy Taco Spaghetti. Perfect for special occasions or weekday dinners, this recipe promises a taste extravaganza that’s easy to prepare.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • 1-2 cups Cheddar Cheese, freshly grated
  • 1/4 cup Onion, finely chopped
  • 1 packet Taco Spice Mix
  • 1 can (14oz) Diced Tomatoes infused with Chiles
  • 2-3 Garlic Cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Cilantro, freshly chopped
  • 8oz Spaghetti
  • 2 cups Beef Broth (or substitute with water)

Steps:

  1. Begin with Beef: In a sizeable pan, over medium heat, add the ground beef. Crumble it well using a spatula.
  2. Add Aromatic Veggies: Once the beef starts sizzling, stir in the onions and garlic. Continue cooking until the beef turns a beautiful brown and the onions are soft.
  3. Spice it Up: Sprinkle your taco spice mix over the beef, ensuring an even coating. Add a small pinch of salt for an enhanced taste.
  4. Drain Excess Oils: After the beef is perfectly cooked, turn off the flame. Carefully drain any accumulated fat.
  5. Tomato Magic: Return to the heat and stir in the diced tomatoes with chiles, blending them well with the beef.
  6. Spaghetti & Liquid Gold: Gently pour in the beef broth. As it warms, immerse the spaghetti. Ensure every strand is submerged. If required, pour in a tad more broth or water.
  7. Pasta Perfection: Once the broth starts bubbling, lower the heat to a simmer, cover your pan, and let the magic happen for 12-15 minutes. Occasionally stir to prevent sticking.
  8. Thicken & Enhance: Post the pasta cooking, uncover and let it cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing excess moisture to evaporate.
  9. Cheese Cascade: Switch off the flame. Gracefully blanket the dish with your freshly grated cheddar, allowing the residual heat to melt it.
  10. Garnish & Serve: Sprinkle freshly chopped cilantro over the top for a burst of color and flavor. Now, it’s ready to plate!
  11. Savor & Celebrate: Enjoy your plate of Taco-Infused Spaghetti with a dash of taco sauce if you wish. Every bite is a celebration of flavors!

Make it Veggie: If you’re not into beef or you have vegetarian guests, replace the ground beef with a meat substitute like tofu crumbles or finely chopped mushrooms. They soak up the flavors beautifully!

Sides to Consider: Elevate this dish by serving with a side of garlic bread or a fresh Mexican corn salad. The contrast of flavors will have everyone asking for seconds.

Wine Pairing: A chilled glass of Rosé or a light red wine, such as Pinot Noir, complements the spicy notes of this dish perfectly.

Customization: Feel free to add some extra veggies like bell peppers or corn kernels for a more varied texture. If you’re into spicy, sprinkle some red pepper flakes or drizzle a bit of hot sauce on top.

Storing & Reheating: This dish stores well in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. When reheating, splash a little bit of water or broth to help the spaghetti regain its sauciness. Use the microwave or stovetop for best results.
