Ingredients

  • 1 lb of wild-caught shrimp
  • 1/3 cup of honey
  • 1/4 cup of tamari soy sauce (or coconut aminos for a soy-free option)
  • 4 cloves of minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of freshly grated ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh parsley or cilantro, finely chopped
  • 1-2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil or avocado oil

Instructions

  1. Prep the Shrimp: Start with 1 pound of wild-caught shrimp. You can choose to buy shrimp that is already peeled and deveined, or you can do it yourself if you prefer. Wild-caught shrimp is recommended for the best flavor.
  2. Mix the Sauce: In a small bowl, combine 1/3 cup of honey, 1/4 cup of tamari soy sauce, four minced garlic cloves, 1 teaspoon of freshly grated ginger, and 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes. Mix everything together until well combined.
  3. Marinate the Shrimp: Pour approximately one-third of the sauce over the shrimp and stir to make sure each piece is well coated. Allow the shrimp to marinate for 15 to 20 minutes. Save the remaining sauce for later.
  4. Prep the Herbs and Onions: While your shrimp is marinating, finely chop about a tablespoon of fresh parsley or cilantro. Thinly slice 1-2 green onions. Set these aside for later. Source: Ineskohl.info
  5. Cook the Shrimp: Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil or avocado oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add the marinated shrimp to the pan, laying them in a single layer. Discard any leftover marinade from the bowl. Cook the shrimp for 1-2 minutes on each side until they turn a lovely pink color.
  6. Add the Sauce: Once the shrimp are cooked, pour the remaining honey-garlic sauce into the pan and bring it to a simmer. Make sure the shrimp are thoroughly coated with the sauce. Sprinkle the finely chopped herbs into the pan and give everything a final toss. Turn off the heat and let the sauce thicken slightly.
  7. Serve it Up: Plate your delicious honey garlic shrimp with a side of rice, steamed broccoli, sautéed spinach, or any side of your choice. Don’t forget to drizzle any extra sauce left in the pan over the top. Garnish with the thinly sliced green onions.

Voilà! There you have it, folks. Your quick, easy, and oh-so-delicious honey garlic shrimp is ready to serve and enjoy. This recipe is perfect for those nights when you want something quick yet satisfying. Try it out, and we’re sure you and your family will absolutely love it.
