Butter Swim Biscuits

Butter Swim Biscuits

Welcome to Ineskohl Kitchen, where you find warmth and delight in every recipe. Today, I’m excited to guide you on how to prepare a timeless classic – homemade buttery biscuits. This recipe is a celebration of simplicity, yet it never fails to satisfy your comfort food cravings.

Ingredients:

  • 1 stick (or 8 tablespoons) of butter
  • 2.5 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 cups of buttermilk

Instructions:

  1. Begin by expressing gratitude for the blessing of food and the ability to create delicious meals.
  2. Preheat your oven and place the stick of butter in it. The heat from the oven will melt the butter, which will be an integral part of our biscuit dough.
  3. In a large bowl, carefully measure out 2.5 cups of all-purpose flour. It’s essential to be precise when baking, as it’s more like a science than casual cooking.
  4. Next, add 3 teaspoons of baking powder into the bowl. Remember, we’re using baking powder, not baking soda.
  5. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of sugar into the mix.
  6. Add a teaspoon of salt to the bowl to enhance the flavor profile of the biscuits.
  7. Using a sifter or a whisk, combine all the dry ingredients thoroughly.
  8. Next, pour in 2 cups of buttermilk. If the mixture appears too dry, add a bit more buttermilk, but ensure it’s not overly wet. The consistency should be such that you can comfortably shape the biscuits.
  9. Take out the melted butter from the oven and pour it into your dough mixture. Mix well until fully incorporated.
  10. Spread out the dough in your baking dish.
  11. With a butter knife, section the dough into nine equal parts. (source: Ineskohl.info)
  12. Bake in the oven until golden brown. Monitor closely to prevent over-browning or burning.

And voila! Your delicious homemade buttery biscuits are ready. Let them cool before diving in, as tempting as it might be to try one straight from the oven.

Pair these biscuits with your favorite jelly or spread, or enjoy them as they are. The buttery, fluffy inside with a slightly crisp exterior will make you fall in love at the first bite.

I hope you find joy in making and sharing these biscuits as much as I do. Don’t forget to share the recipe and the result with your friends and family. Keep spreading the love, one recipe at a time.

Till our next kitchen adventure, stay safe, check in on your loved ones, and remember – love never stops. Keep loving yourself, keep loving others, and never forget the love the universe has for you.

Happy baking!
